The Sun Train Zeeland offers a sustainable and scenic way to explore the coastal city of Vlissingen. This modern, solar-powered sightseeing train connects key points in the city, including public transport hubs, parking areas, and major attractions such as the marina, harbor, and beachfront promenade. With its quiet, emission-free operation and wide windows, the Sun Train provides panoramic views of Vlissingen’s historic center and waterfront, making it an appealing option for visitors of all ages.
During the high season, the Sun Train runs daily from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. In the mornings (10:00–12:30), it serves as a shuttle from De Punt (near Vlissingen Station) to the city center. From 12:30 PM onward, it offers a one-hour hop-on, hop-off tourist route, allowing passengers to discover local highlights at their own pace. In the pre- and post-season (April–May and October–November), the train operates on weekends only.
The route brings you close to many of Vlissingen’s top sites, including the Reptile Zoo Iguana, Maritime MuZEEum Zeeland, and the marina, all within a short walk from the train stops. Tickets can be purchased online or at the meeting point on Oude Markt, and prices start at around €12–€15. The Sun Train Zeeland is not only an eco-friendly way to get around but also a relaxed introduction to the city’s maritime character and vibrant atmosphere.
