Neude

Neude is a square in the centre of Utrecht, a short walk from the Oudegracht and the Dom area, and it is one of the places where local life unfolds. Utrecht has been an ecclesiastical and administrative centre since the early Middle Ages, when it began as a Roman fort and later became the seat of a bishop who spread Christianity in the north. The city's identity as a religious centre, with its cathedral and churches, is visible throughout the centre, and the square, though modern in feel, sits within that historic frame. The Dom Tower rises above the rooftops nearby, and the canals are within a few minutes' walk.
