Appelpop

Appelpop is one of the Netherlands’ best-known free pop and rock festivals, held in Tiel, a town on the river Waal in the Betuwe region of Gelderland. The name combines appel, the Dutch word for apple, with pop, and it refers to the fruit that gives the area its identity. The Betuwe is the orchard country of the Netherlands, and Tiel is one of its main towns, with a long history of fruit growing, jam making and canning.
