MOA (Museum Oud Amelisweerd) is a unique museum experience set within the historic Oud Amelisweerd estate near Bunnik, just outside Utrecht. Housed in an elegant 18th-century country mansion at Koningslaan 9, MOA blends art, history, and nature, offering visitors a tranquil escape along the banks of the Kromme Rijn river. The museum is open Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00, and admission is €10 for adults, €5 for ages 13–17, and free for children under 13 and Museumkaart holders.
MOA is known for its rotating exhibitions that often highlight costume design, paper art, and the rich cultural history of the Utrecht region. Past shows have included “Dress to Impress – Kostuums met een verhaal” and “Theater van papier,” which showcase both contemporary creativity and historical craftsmanship. The mansion itself is a highlight, with beautifully preserved interiors and original hand-painted Chinese wallpaper dating back over two centuries.
Surrounded by woodlands and walking trails, MOA is an inviting destination for art lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. After exploring the museum, visitors can enjoy a stroll through the estate’s gardens or along the nearby Kromme Rijn Path.
