Deventer Market Square

Deventer Market Square, known locally as the Brink, serves as the vibrant heart of this historic Hanseatic city. Located in the city center, the square is surrounded by well-preserved medieval architecture, including the iconic Waag (Weighing House). This building, one of the oldest in the Netherlands, now houses Museum De Waag, which showcases the rich history of Deventer as a trading hub. The square is open to the public at all times with no admission fees for the space itself. However, visiting Museum De Waag requires an entrance ticket, and the museum accepts the Netherlands Museum Pass. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00 and is closed on Mondays. Located at Brink 56, it offers a Dutch-language audio tour and connects to city walks via the 3Deventer app. Facilities include a museum shop, wheelchair accessibility, and nearby parking.
